GLI Hosts OneSpartanburg for Talent & Workforce Strategy Exchange

In late April, ҹɫֱ²¥ Inc. (GLI) hosted a delegation from OneSpartanburg, Inc. for a focused two-day visit centered on talent attraction, workforce development, and marketing innovation. Their team visited Louisville specifically to engage with GLI’s Marketing and Talent Attraction & Retention team to learn about the programs and strategies driving our region’s success in connecting regional employers with skilled talent.

A key focus of the visit was GLI’s Live in Lou Talent Attraction Campaigns, which help employers connect directly with qualified candidates. Using data analysis, GLI identifies markets with an oversupply of talent and crafts messaging tailored to industry motivators that encourage to ҹɫֱ²¥. These campaigns give businesses a competitive edge in attracting the right talent while reinforcing ҹɫֱ²¥â€™s value proposition through the nationally recognized Live in Lou brand. These campaigns are just one strategy in a suite of tools GLI uses to attract talent to the ҹɫֱ²¥ region.

OneSpartanburg attendees included Allen Smith, President & CEO; Naomi Sargen, COO; Ron Garner, Chief Talent Officer; Taylor Dement, Director of Talent Solutions; and Makenna Tschetter, Marketing Manager. GLI presenters included Kelly Gold, Vice President of Marketing, Talent Attraction & Retention; Haylee McEvoy, Director of Digital Engagement & Strategy; Emily Drexler, Business Partner Recruiter for the Academies of Louisville; and Greg Epley, Graphic Design Manager.

The OneSpartanburg team also heard about other innovative Live in Lou resources including sneak peaks of:

  • Live in Lou Recruit, a new personalized hiring solution where GLI uses LinkedIn Talent Recruiter to handpick candidates based on criteria from an employer’s hiring team. GLI will then reach out individually to these candidates, sharing details about the company, the role, and the Louisville lifestyle to invite them to apply.
  • The redesigned , which will launch later this month and offer expanded advertising opportunities for regional businesses. With ad placements and sponsored content that links directly to company websites, employers can increase visibility among current residents, new arrivals, and those considering a move. This strategy supports both brand awareness and recruitment.

Throughout the visit, there was meaningful exchange of branding, campaign execution, business engagement, and peer region collaboration. OneSpartanburg showed strong interest in GLI’s ability to integrate relocation and talent into a unified strategy, and how ambassador programs like provide additional local insight.

GLI hosts several chamber visits each year and also coordinates an annual leadership exchange for ҹɫֱ²¥ business leaders to travel to another city to glean best practices – the . GLIDE 2025 presented by Norton Healthcare will take a group of 140 business leaders to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in October to learn about their economic growth and placemaking strategies.
