MEET 2025 POWER TO PROSPER PARTICIPANT: NINA SMITH

Our Power to Prosper Accelerator is all about giving businesses the skills and connections they need to move to the next level and grow here in ҹɫֱ²¥. The accelerator, valued at $15,000 per individual, is offered free to participants through the generous funding of Papa Johns and Suntory Global Spirits. This program teaches business owners critical business skills like development strategies, strategic planning, financial management skills, marketing & sales, human resources, how to access capital, and how to contract with the government and major corporations.

What is your business name?

  • Smith & Associates Counseling PLLC

Tell us about what your business does.

  • Smith & Associates Counseling PLLC provides client-centered psychotherapy services and behavioral techniques and approaches specialized in helping clients overcome mental health challenges.

What inspired you to join the Power to Prosper program?

  • I was inspired by a Power to Prosper alumna who was on television speaking about how the program helped her further her business knowledge, which led to her opening another location (Froggy’s Popcorn).

Where do you see your business in the next 5 to 10 years? How do you believe the Power to Prosper program will help you in reaching those long-term goals?

  • In 5 years- to be in a new building that will accommodate offices and clinical space for 3-5 additional clinical support employees and staff. In 10 years- I see the business having a COO for the business taking over the day-to-day responsibilities … I believe the local business resources and connections will help reach business long term goals in the program.

What’s your favorite thing about living and doing business in Louisville?

  • My favorite thing about of living in Louisville is that local parks in each part of the city. My favorite thing about doing business in Louisville is supporting the minority and smaller owned and operated businesses in the city.
